MGP Ingredients, Atchinson, KS, and Cargill, Minneapolis, MN, have formed a business alliance for the production and marketing of a new resistant starch product called Fibersym™ HA, which is derived from high amylose corn and ideal for use in a wide array of lower “net carbohydrate” food products. Under the business alliance, which has an initial term of five years, Cargill will manufacture Fibersym HA according to a patent licensed exclusively to MGP and relating to the production of food-grade starch resistant to alpha-amylase.
